President Vladimir Putin will meet with the mothers of the Russian military this week on Mother’s Day, which is celebrated on November 27. Vedomosti writes about this with reference to three sources close to the presidential administration. The Kremlin has not officially announced Putin’s intention to meet with the mothers of servicemen.

“The President will pay attention to this holiday and will not ignore the topic of military operations in which military personnel participate,” one of the interlocutors said.

Another source of the publication reported that preparations for the meeting are already underway, this will logically fall into the celebration of Mother’s Day. He also stressed that this year Putin gave the holiday a “new incentive” by establishing the title “Mother Heroine”. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, in response to a request from the newspaper, promised to “inform in a timely manner” about the meetings of the head of state.

In early November, Putin promised to meet with the Russians to discuss how things are going with the support of the mobilized: “I will talk about this in order to hear them, to have feedback.” Peskov then clarified that we are talking about a separate event, which will be reported later.

Putin proposed to return the title of Mother Heroine in June and signed a corresponding decree in August. It was included in the list of the highest ranks in Russia on a par with the Hero of Russia, the Hero of Labor. Those who have given birth and raised ten or more children will be able to receive it. Such mothers will also be entitled to a one-time payment of 1 million rubles.

The honorary title “Mother Heroine” and the Order of the same name were established in the USSR in 1944. It was awarded at the same time with the award to women who gave birth and raised ten or more children. This order was awarded to more than 400 thousand women.
