MThe Ministry of Defense has exempted some journalists, employees of telecom operators and financial organizations from conscription for mobilization. They still need to report to the military enlistment office on a summons with documents confirming the postponement
In addition to workers in these areas, a postponement, according to the law “On mobilization training and mobilization in the Russian Federation”, is due to deputies and senators; those who care for sick relatives; having a pregnant wife and three dependent children under 16, or four children under the age of 16, or raising without a mother of one child of this age; citizens who have received a reservation by the decision of the government; as well as those who are not fit for health.
President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to determine which other categories of citizens will be granted a postponement.

The authorities promised to call only those Russians who served in the army, have combat experience and in-demand specialties. The Ministry of Defense clarified that enlistment is subject to privates and sergeants up to 35 years old, junior officers up to 50 years old and seniors up to 55 years old.
