We sent this person to Russia,” Erdogan said, without specifying who exactly he was talking about. “RIA Novosti” reported that we are talking about Viktor Medvedchuk.
The Turkish president added that now the most important issue is the supply of Russian grain and fertilizers, which will be sent to poor countries.
Moscow and Kiev exchanged prisoners of war on the night of September 22. Russia has returned 50 soldiers, including to the DPR and LPR. As stated in the Russian Defense Ministry, in captivity they “were in mortal danger”. Among the persons extradited by Kiev was, among others, Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, who was detained by the SBU in the spring.
Ukraine, in turn, received 215 people, among them the commanders of the Azov battalion (recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization and banned) Denis Prokopenko (Radish) and Svyatoslav Palamar (Kalina), as well as the commander of the Marines of the 36th Brigade Sergey Volyna (Volyna). It was claimed that they would remain in Turkey until the end of hostilities “under the personal guarantees of the Turkish president”.
