Rosenergoatom announced Kiev's attempts to recruit employees

Ukraine tried to recruit by phone the staff of the Zaporozhye NPP, who signed a contract with the operating company. This was announced by the adviser to the head of the concern “Rosenergoatom” Renat Karchaa in a conversation with TASS.

“They say blindly on the phone: “And you record audio, video, and we will allow you to work at the nuclear power plant, but then you will do what we say.” What is this? But people are holding on, despite all these threats and recruitment,” he said.

According to him, the Ukrainian side continues to threaten employees and their families, trying to undermine the psychological state in the team.

Earlier, Karchaa said that more than 3 thousand people signed an employment contract with a company that is engaged in the operation of the NPP. He added that Ukraine is also trying to influence employees with promises of higher salaries and bonuses.

In early January, the head of the Ukrainian Energoatom, Pyotr Kotin, said that Ukraine needed to take the Zaporozhye NPP from Russia by force, since efforts to create a safety zone around it had come to naught.

“Most of all we hope for the Ukrainian armed forces,” said the head of Energoatom.

Zaporizhia NPP has been under the control of Russian troops since the end of February last year. At the end of September, the Zaporozhye region became part of Russia following a referendum, and on October 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the station to be taken into federal ownership.

ZAES was repeatedly shelled, Kiev and Moscow blamed each other for the attacks. The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has repeatedly called for the creation of a safety zone around the NPP.

Ukraine insists on the “complete demilitarization” of the station and its transfer to the control of the Ukrainian “Energoatom”. Russia, in turn, ruled out the transfer of control over the NPP to a third party.
