Putin will instruct to give labor guarantees to volunteers when participating in the operation

President Vladimir Putin will instruct the government to amend legislation to provide labor guarantees to Russians who want to volunteer to participate in a special military operation in Ukraine, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, RIA Novosti reports.

He clarified that the amendments, among other things, should provide such labor guarantees as the possibility of a long vacation while maintaining the current position of a potential volunteer.

In mid-March, more than a thousand volunteers from Chechnya went to Ukraine to participate in the fighting. Later, the head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov repeatedly reported on the dispatch of new groups. Volunteers from Crimea also went to Ukraine. However, there was no question of volunteers from Russia participating in military operations, Peskov said at the time.

The participants of the special operation decided to assign the status of a combat veteran, which gives the right to receive tax, transport, land and housing benefits. In case of injury, they are entitled to a one-time payment of 3 million rubles, and in case of the death of a military man, his family will be paid 5 million rubles. In addition, the families of the victims also received benefits and security in the amount of 7.4 million rubles.

In early July, the Duma approved the assignment of veteran status to participants of the military operation from among civilians. We are talking about civilian personnel of the armed forces, repair crews, doctors and other specialists involved in the military operation. According to the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, so far this status can be assigned to civilians only if they are injured or presented with a state award. The politician proposed to assign the status of a veteran to war correspondents as well.
