The interlocutor of RIA Novosti said that from 15 to 20 people were killed or injured. Al Arabiya TV channel reported ten victims.
The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called the incident a terrorist attack and strongly condemned such actions.
This is the first attack on the Russian embassy in Afghanistan since the Taliban movement came to power (recognized as terrorist in Russia and banned). It stated that it guarantees the security of the Russian diplomatic mission. After the explosion, the Taliban promised to find and punish the perpetrators.
