A video of the detention is attached to the publication. It took place directly in the City Council. According to the agency, he was supposed to create an agent network of Russian special services and tried to involve two of his subordinates and two other residents of the city, among whom was a senior operative of the district police department, in intelligence and subversive activities. “It is documented that they have pro-Kremlin views and they have repeatedly confirmed this in personal conversations and messages on social networks,” the SBU said. A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In September, the former head of the SBU in the Kharkiv region, Roman Dudin, was detained in Ukraine. He was also suspected of high treason and abandoning his place of service. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Dudin on May 29, explaining that in the first days of hostilities he “did not work to protect the city”, but “thought only about himself personally”.
