Georgia will not allow itself to be involved in a military conflict, Deputy Prime Minister Thea Tsulukiani said, explaining Tbilisi’s refusal of military assistance to Kiev. Her words are quoted by Sputnik Georgia.

The Charge d’affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, Andrei Kasyanov, wrote in an article for “European Truth” that Kiev asked Tbilisi to return the Buk complexes transferred in 2008 and Javelin received from the United States, but he refused. In response, the Georgian Defense Ministry explained that it had bought the Buk systems in 2007 for several million dollars.

“There is only one answer,” the Georgian authorities will not allow the state of Georgia to be involved in a military confrontation. Therefore, we will not provide military-type assistance, of course, to any of the parties to the military conflict, especially since, as far as I know, we are talking about the transfer of such weapons that we have acquired, but this is just a detail,” Tsulukiani said on the air of Channel One.

The Georgian side does not agree to supply weapons to Ukraine, not wanting to become a party to the conflict, the military department explained. The adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, in response to Georgia’s unwillingness to help with weapons, said that even after ten and a half months of hostilities, she does not understand which side she should be on.
