Withthe working group formed in August will have to identify the reasons for the inefficiency of the arms supply program to US allies and find ways to speed up this process, the newspaper writes
At the end of March, the New York Times wrote that the White House had formed a team to develop a response plan for Washington and its allies in case Moscow uses nuclear weapons. The sources of the publication then explained that we are talking about the so-called “Tiger” group. This has been the designation of emergency task forces in the US National Security Council for many years, the newspaper noted. According to the NYT, the previous staff was engaged in the development of scenarios for the introduction of tough sanctions, the buildup of troops in NATO countries and the arming of Ukrainian troops.
In mid-August, the Baltic and Eastern European countries asked the United States to increase defense production in order to speed up the execution of orders for weapons to deter Russia. In particular, Poland expects the promised American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, HIMARS MLRS, F-16 fighters and Abrams tanks, and Estonia wants to get HIMARS and Reaper attack drones.
