The representative of the State Department noted that the proposed contracts comply with the policy of the United States towards Taiwan.
China intends to take decisive measures in response to the US plans, Liu Pengyu, a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Washington, told TASS when asked to comment on the Pentagon statement. “China will resolutely take legal and necessary countermeasures in light of the development of the situation,” he said.
