The ex-head of the LDPR faction in the State Duma, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, will be buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in the west of Moscow, TASS and RIA Novosti report, citing their own sources.
“Farewell to Vladimir Zhirinovsky is planned in the Hall of Columns. The funeral will be held at the Troyekurovsky cemetery, where Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s relatives are buried,” the source told TASS.Later, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin confirmed during the plenary session that the farewell to Zhirinovsky will take place in the Hall of Columns of the House of Unions on April 8.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky died on April 6 at the age of 75 after a long illness. In early February, he was admitted to the Central Clinical Hospital with omicron, a variant of the coronavirus. The source of RBC claimed that the politician was connected to a ventilator and that he was in critical condition.
After the death of the head of the faction, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin interrupted the plenary session of the lower house of parliament to announce this. Deputies honored his memory with a minute of silence. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and other politicians expressed their condolences over Zhirinovsky’s death.
