Nand in Ukraine, from October 1, representatives of 14 professions should be registered for military service. If they don’t, a fine is provided, but no one will be punished until the end of the year
In December last year, an order of the Ministry of Defense came into force in Ukraine, according to which Ukrainian women representing 35 professions (for example, chief accountant, manager, lawyer, etc.) are required to register for military service. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reported that pregnant women and those who have young children are also subject to registration. Commander – in – ChiefThe Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny noted that military registration does not mean conscription or mobilization. “With the military registration, there will be no changes in the lives of Ukrainian women! The only thing is that the armed forces will simply know what kind of specialists there are in the country and can, as a last resort, join the defense of the state,” Zaluzhny said.
In January of this year, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, demanded that the Minister of Defense, Alexey Reznikov, reduce the list of professions to account for women in military service.
Currently, the list includes 14 specialties and seven related professions (medical, marketing, engineering, food technology, journalism, etc.), reports RBC Ukraine. Initially, it was assumed that registration would be mandatory for women whose professions were included in the list. However, the General Staff reported in mid-July that it would be voluntary for the time being, and at the end of August, the Ministry of Defense submitted relevant amendments to the Verkhovna Rada, UNIAN reports.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a military operation in Ukraine, calling its goals “protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years”, as well as “demilitarization and denazification” of the neighboring country.
Zelensky imposed martial law in the country and announced mobilization. Since then, martial law, which provides for restrictions on entry and exit, has been repeatedly extended, most recently at the end of May. Then it was extended for three months at once – until August 23. In mid-August, the Ukrainian leader submitted to the Rada a bill on the next extension of martial law in the country.
At the beginning of July, Zelensky demanded from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to lift restrictions on the departure of conscripts without the consent of the military enlistment office, which was later done.
