Moldovan servicemen did not record any violations of the republic’s airspace on Saturday, January 14. The press service of the military department reported this on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia and banned), commenting on the information of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs about the fall of rocket fragments in the border area in the north of the country.
“The air surveillance systems of the National Army have not recorded violations of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova,” the report says.
The ministry promised to provide additional information after specialists studied a fragment of a rocket with electronic components.
The Moldovan Interior Ministry reported on the fall of rocket fragments in the north of the country, which were discovered by the border patrol of the checkpoint “Larga” on the evening of January 14. Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa expressed outrage over the fall of a rocket fragment on the territory of the country and called it disrespect for sovereignty.
At the end of October, fragments of a missile shot down by Ukrainian air defenses were found in the north of the village of Naslavcha on the border with Ukraine. In early December, a rocket landed near the border town of Brichany. After the incident, the Russian ambassador in Chisinau Oleg Vasnetsov was summoned to the Moldovan Foreign Ministry.
