The Foreign Ministry called Russia’s accusations of shelling infrastructure hypocritical

The accusations against Moscow in the alleged shelling of the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine are the height of hypocrisy, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

The diplomat stressed that the European Union “has lost the moral right to say anything about war crimes”, because for 8 years it turned a blind eye to the killing of civilians by the Kiev regime in the Donbass, and “continues to cover up the criminal actions of Kiev”. “It is the feeling of complete impunity that determines the aggressive behavior of the Ukrainian authorities,” Zakharova stressed.

According to her, Russia will continue to carefully record and identify the organizers, perpetrators and accomplices of such crimes.

Russia has been launching missile strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure since October 10. The authorities called these attacks a response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, which, according to President Vladimir Putin, was staged by the Ukrainian special services. The Ministry of Defense called the targets of the strikes objects of military control systems, communications and energy.

On October 19, Advisor to the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksandr Kharchenko said that about 40% of the country’s energy infrastructure was seriously damaged. He also warned about emergency and planned outages.
