The fighting in Ukraine is a “new Patriotic War” in which Russian troops will win “as in 1812 and 1945,” Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, former President Dmitry Medvedev, said in a telegram channel.
“Well done, after all, this Borrel with an extinct face. I remembered that our country defeated Napoleon and Hitler. Note that he drew the analogy himself. Accordingly, the Ukronazis and Western Europe are the direct heirs of those who fought with Russia. And the war, therefore, is a new Domestic one with them,” he wrote.
This is how Medvedev reacted to the words of the deputy head of the European Commission, Josep Borrel, who recalled the war of the Russian Empire and the USSR with Napoleonic France and Nazi Germany in the XIX and XX centuries. “Russia is a great country, a great nation that is used to fighting to the end,” he stressed and assured that Moscow has “huge forces and the ability to continue.” Borrel called for tanks and other heavy weapons to be given to Kiev in these conditions: “Ukraine needs to be provided with the necessary weapons not only to fight back, as they do, but also to return the lands.”
The Russian authorities criticize the supply of weapons by Western states to Ukraine. “Great Britain, other European countries, Poland, etc., which are now talking about their intentions to arrange a new round of supplies of new, more technologically advanced military equipment for Ukraine, are not able to change the situation on the spot,” Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, said..
