The presidential administration is indeed preparing for the presidential elections of 2024, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said about this, without specifying details, commenting on the RBC article.

“Preparation for each election is the essence of the daily work of the presidential administration and the president himself. Everything that is done one way or another is preparation,” Peskov said.

According to him, at every election, the incumbent president, if he takes part in them, receives a credit of trust from the population. “And the elections themselves, if the president once again nominates his candidacy, ” is such an exam when people confirm or do not confirm their trust. Therefore, everything that is being done is somehow a preparation,” he explained.

Earlier, sources told RBC that the Kremlin had begun preparations for the 2024 elections. According to the interlocutors, the scenario of Vladimir Putin’s nomination is being discussed as a basic one. The president said that he had not yet decided whether to run, but such a right “already stabilizes the situation”. “In accordance with the Constitution, I have the right to be elected for a new term. Whether I’m going to do it or not, I haven’t decided for myself yet. But the very existence of this right already stabilizes the domestic political situation,” Vladimir Putin said during the VTB Capital forum, “Russia is calling!”in November 2021.
