At a meeting of the Presidium of the General Council of United Russia, the candidacies of six deputy Secretary of the General Council Andrei Turchak were approved, the correspondent of RBC reports.

Deputies Alexander Khinshtein, Yevgeny Revenko, Dmitry Kobylkin and Senator Andrei Klimov were not among the candidates proposed by Turchak.

Among the deputy secretaries of the General Council left:

  • the head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma, Vladimir Vasiliev;
  • Deputy head of the government apparatus, Alexander Gribov;
  • Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, Anna Kuznetsova;
  • Senator Sergei Perminov;
  • employee of the presidential administration Daria Lantratova.

Also, the acting head of the executive committee of the United Russia, Alexander Sidyakin, whose candidacy was also proposed by Turchak, was approved as the head of the executive committee of the United Russia.

On Saturday, December 4, Turchak was unanimously re-elected secretary of the General Council of the party. 134 members of the General Council voted for him, and his formal opponent, the head of the Voronezh branch of United Russia, Vladimir Netesov, received zero votes.

The head of the party, Dmitry Medvedev, who has held this post since 2012, was also re-elected for a new five-year term.

In addition, “United Russia” has updated the composition of the supreme and General Councils. So, director Fyodor Bondarchuk and Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov were removed from the supreme Council.

Among the new members of the Supreme Council are director Vladimir Mashkov, chief physician of the hospital in Kommunarka Denis Protsenko, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Sergei Neverov and Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, Presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.

Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Alexey Gordeev and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin remained in the Supreme Council.

Acting Governor of the Vladimir Region Alexander Avdeev, Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov, Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev were included in the General Council according to the results of the vote.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke positively about how “United Russia” proved itself in the State Duma elections in September.

“I think that United Russia has shown itself worthily in the rather difficult, in many ways extraordinary conditions of the election campaign, withstood a tough, open competition and won confidently, with a solid advantage,” he noted.

On the eve of “United Russia” replaced more than ten heads of regional offices, and among the new secretaries the majority are heads of regions.
