The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, wrote in Telegram that he “noticed that he had stayed too long” in office.
“I noticed myself that I stayed up too long. I think I fully deserve an indefinite and long vacation. I hope that you will support me and understand,” he wrote.
Kadyrov also posted a video in which he said that there is a saying in Chechnya: “No matter how long-awaited and respected a guest is, if he leaves on time, it’s even nicer.”

He declared that his youth had passed. “It turns out that I am already old, once I was young, inexperienced, and now I am still inexperienced, but youth has gone, gone somewhere,” Kadyrov said, noting that he would try to leave in time.

At the end of July, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the head of Chechnya with the Order of Alexander Nevsky for his great contribution to the socio-economic development of the republic and the effective solution of tasks of great national importance. Kadyrov stated that he perceives the award as an advance and promised to selflessly serve for the benefit of the Chechen Republic and our great Motherland, Russia.
This is not the first time Kadyrov has spoken about his desire to resign. In 2017, in the program “Actors with Naila Asker-zadeh”, he said that this was his dream. “To be the head of the region and to be responsible for the people, for the republic before the Almighty, before the leadership of the state, well, before the people” is very difficult,” explained the head of Chechnya.
Then he said that he was not tired, but he believes that the time has come for changes in Chechnya. “Once upon a time, people like me were needed to fight, to restore order, and today we have order,” the head of the republic noted.
In 2016, Kadyrov stated that he was ready for any decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin and, in case of resignation, would take care of his family, household chores and solving “certain tasks” in the interests of Russia. “At any moment, if Vladimir Putin thinks he has to get in line, even as an infantryman, I am in a state of minute readiness!”The head of Chechnya spoke.
