The first three settlements in the Berdyansk district of the Zaporozhye region received gas through the territory of the DPR, acting head of the region Yevgeny Balitsky said in the telegram channel.

According to him, specialists have launched nine boiler houses in Berdyansk, three municipal enterprises, a bakery, and the Berdyansk plant of reinforced concrete structures. The day before, about 500 private sector subscribers were also connected, gas supply to apartment buildings is being launched.

“I instructed the gas service of the region to provide maximum assistance to colleagues from Berdyansk for the speedy and safe gasification of the city and district. The next one to connect— Melitopol and Melitopol district»,— noted Balitsky. He stressed that specialists are purging and filling the mains of the distribution network. However, they are faced with the problem of gas pipeline breakthroughs and are carrying out restoration work on the spot.

“I am grateful to the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation for the possibility of a permanent and autonomous gas supply route from Ukraine to the Zaporozhye region from the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” Balitsky said.

In early July, Balitsky reported that Kiev had disconnected the region from gas supply. Then the authorities turned to the Russian leadership for help in an emergency situation. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin instructed the Russian Ministry of Energy to promptly work out the issue of gasification of the Zaporozhye region. As Kommersant wrote, the main option was to restore the Soviet Taganrog gas pipeline to Mariupol (DPR)Berdyansk (Zaporozhye region). After that, it is necessary to build a gas pipeline to Melitopol, the publication indicated.
