FSB reported the detention of a supporter of Ukrainian neo-Nazis in Crimea

In Crimea, FSB officers detained a supporter of “Ukrainian neo-Nazis” on suspicion of illegal possession of explosive devices and substances. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the FSB directorate for Crimea and Sevastopol.

A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia, the FSB clarified.

“It was established that a resident of Alushta, Republic of Crimea, born in 1982, at his place of residence, kept an improvised explosive device with an explosive charge of more than 500 grams,” the press service reported.

In addition, a pistol, TNT, gunpowder, as well as other items, including computer equipment and mobile communications, were found in the detainee’s possession. The FSB claims that videos of “radical content”, photographs depicting nationalist symbols and fascist paraphernalia, as well as correspondence between the detainee and members of “Ukrainian nationalist battalions” were found in the phone.

At the end of March, the FSB reported on the detention in Crimea of a Russian who allegedly worked for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

According to the intelligence service, the man, born in 1971, served in the Donetsk People’s Republic, recently lived in the territory of the Crimea and on a permanent basis maintained contacts with SBU officers.

The special service clarified that the detainee will be checked for involvement in the commission of crimes under Articles 275 and 276 of the Criminal Code (high treason and espionage).
