The governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, arrived at one of the military units in the Leningrad region, where conscripts are being trained for mobilization, the Smolny press service reports. According to the city administration, “every third of them is a volunteer.”

As reported in Smolny, Beglov visited the training ground where conscripts from the reserve train. He was shown classes on bringing weapons to combat, tactical medicine, sniper training, throwing imitation and combat grenades, storming buildings and defense. The governor also gave the conscripts personalized sets of additional equipment, which included personal hygiene products, first aid kits and sleeping bags, Smolny reports.

The Russian authorities do not call the deadline for the end of mobilization in the country. On October 10, the Commissioner for Human Rights in St. Petersburg, Svetlana Agapitova, announced the completion of the first stage of mobilization in the city (the State Duma indicates that it is not divided into stages). The day before, the head of the State Duma Committee on Defense, Andrei Kartapolov, said that the city was “successfully implementing” the mobilization plan, without naming specific figures.
