The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) tried to organize two offensive attempts in the Kherson region, they were thwarted, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
“In the Mykolaiv-Krivoy Rog direction, during the day, Russian troops thwarted two attempts to attack the AFU units by company tactical groups in the areas of the settlements of Davydov Brod and Sukhoi Stavka of the Kherson region,” the defense department summary says.
Also, attempts to penetrate into the rear areas of up to twenty sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were prevented in the region. According to the Ministry of Defense, these groups tried to get to the rear at night. As a result of Russian artillery fire and the actions of Russian troops, more than 120 Ukrainian servicemen were killed, six armored combat vehicles and 13 cars were destroyed, the summary says.
According to the defense Ministry, in the area of Novaya Kamenka, the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed a hangar with foreign-made Ukrainian military equipment with a precision strike.
In the Zaporozhye direction, Ukrainian troops also tried to go on the offensive in small groups in the area of the Vremevsky salient. All attacks by Russian troops were repelled, the AFU servicemen retreated to their original positions. According to the Ministry of Defense, more than 40 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, two tanks, three armored combat vehicles and five Ukrainian pickups were shot down.
