The purpose of the drone attack on Sevastopol on November 22 was the Balaklava thermal power plant (TPP), Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said in the telegram channel.
“The Ukronazists tried to attack our Balaklava thermal power plant again. Probably, they wanted to coincide the attack with their terrorist act, which they committed 7 years ago, when on November 22 they blew up a power line in the Kherson region and a blackout came in Crimea and Sevastopol. It didn’t work out,” the head of the city wrote.

In November 2015, several transmission towers were blown up in the Kherson region. The first explosion occurred on November 20, two of the four pillars were damaged. Two days later, the remaining two were blown up, which stopped the supply of electricity to Crimea from Ukraine and the peninsula was completely de-energized.
On December 2 of that year, the opening of the first stage of the energy bridge to the Crimea from the Krasnodar Territory along the bottom of the Kerch Strait to ensure the independence of the peninsula from energy imports took place.
He added that two drones were shot down on the approach to the thermal power plant, the attack of three more was repelled over the water area. As a result of the incidents, no fires, damage to civil infrastructure and casualties were recorded.
Razvozhaev reported about the work of the air defense in connection with the drone attack at about 19:30 Moscow time on November 22. At the same time, the movement of marine passenger transport was stopped in the city, but it was resumed an hour later.

Balaklava TPP is located on the eastern outskirts of Sevastopol, next to the memorial “Sapun Mountain”.
This thermal power plant has already been attacked by drones on October 27. Then an idle transformer caught fire, the fire was promptly extinguished by the company’s employees.
In November, the Sevastopol authorities reported three times about drones trying to attack the city. Earlier, drones were shot down on November 1 and 8. The largest was the attack on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol Bay on October 29. More than 15 drones, including autonomous marine ones, participated in it.
