The EC announced the right of EU countries to recognize the certificate of those vaccinated with Sputnik V

The EU member states themselves will determine whether to lift restrictions for those vaccinated with Sputnik V or another vaccine not registered by the European regulator. The recognition of the San Marino certificate does not mean the approval of the Russian drug

The EC declared the right of EU countries to recognize the certificate of vaccinated persons as a V-Satellite

Each EU country must independently decide whether to recognize on its territory the vaccination certificates of those who are vaccinated by the Russian ” V ” Satellite. This is reported by TASS and “RIA Novosti” with reference to the comment of the representative of the European Commission.

“The European Commission did not approve any vaccines by deciding on the equivalence of COVID certificates. With regard to the vaccine, the Satellite V San Marino vaccination certificate will be valid under the same conditions as the digital COVID certificate of the EU, the EC representative said.

He pointed out that the EU member states themselves will determine whether to lift sanitary restrictions for those who are vaccinated with drugs that have not received permission for use on the EU market.

The European Commission added that ” the presence of a digital COVID certificate is not a prerequisite for entry into the territory of the European Union.” The representative of the EC recalled that it is recommended to allow entry to citizens vaccinated with vaccines approved by the European regulator (Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & amp; Johnson) or the World Health Organization (the same plus Chinese Sinovac and Sinopharm).

Earlier on Tuesday, the European Commission recognized the coronavirus vaccination certificates issued in San Marino as equivalent to those issued throughout the EU and in the countries of the Schengen area. According to the Russian Direct Investment Fund, the majority of residents of this country are vaccinated with the V Satellite. Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson are also used there. The EC said that at the request of San Marino, they checked the certificates issued by this country and came to the conclusion that they comply with EU regulations.

The first EU country that decided not to wait for the decision of the European regulator and approved the use of the V Satellite at the national level was Hungary, then Slovakia joined it. In mid-July, the RDIF admitted that the Russian vaccine could be registered in the European Union in the fall.
