The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is engaged in mining a granary in the east of the country, Kiev plans to accuse Moscow of undermining and “deliberately destroying grain stocks.” This was announced by the Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters of Russia for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, the publication is posted on the telegram channel of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The explosion is planned to be staged in the city of Karaichnoye, Kharkiv region, Russia will be accused of “provoking hunger” and “disrupting” the grain export deal from Ukrainian ports, the report says. The Ministry claims that the Western media intend to present the incident as “another atrocity of the Russian troops”, requiring “a tough response from the world community”.
The Russian Defense Ministry linked these data to the “military failures of the Ukrainian army”, explaining the plans by Kiev’s intention to achieve an increase in military support from Western countries before the meeting of Western defense ministers on January 20 at the Ramstein base.
A group of SBU officers and mine-blasting specialists has already arrived in Volchansk, their total number does not exceed 30 people, they are now stationed at the Volchansk military enlistment office, the ministry said in a statement. It also says that the granary is owned by a freelance employee of the Security Service of Ukraine V. Uvarov, the group is headed by A. Tkachuk.

The parties have repeatedly made counter-accusations on the process of implementing the agreements. Thus, by the end of December, the Russian Foreign Ministry did not see “real progress” in the implementation of agreements regarding agricultural exports from Russia. Food producers and suppliers continue to “face blocking of bank payments, prohibitive insurance rates and denial of access to ports,” the agency insists.
In turn, the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine (AMPU) accused Russia of creating a long queue of ships that move along the grain corridor. According to her, the Russian side “slows down inspections of vessels, which is why they have to wait in line for an average month”.
