Among Russians, 30% are more likely to have a negative attitude to the decision of the authorities of Moscow and the Moscow region on mandatory vaccination of part of the working population. This follows from the VTsIOM survey “Vaccination with mandatory elements: for and against” (the results are available from RBC). Another 49% of respondents are positive about this decision, 16% are indifferent. Most often, residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg (30%) spoke negatively about mandatory vaccination. The most positive feedback about this decision was received among residents of small towns with a population of up to 100 thousand people (54%).

The survey was conducted on June 20, it was attended by 1.6 thousand Russians aged 18 and over, the study was conducted by telephone interview. The statistical error does not exceed 2.5%.

More than half of the respondents (56%) believe that the decision on mandatory vaccination corresponds to the epidemiological situation in the capital and the Moscow region. One in four (25%) believes that it is more likely that it does not correspond to the epidemiological situation. Every second Russian (52%) is confident that mandatory vaccination of employees in the service sector will prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in Moscow and the Moscow region. A third of respondents (34%) believe that this is not the case, and another 14% could not give a definite answer.

Only about three-quarters of respondents (77%) were informed about the decision of the authorities of Moscow and the Moscow region to carry out mandatory vaccination. For the first time, 22% of respondents heard about it, most often-young people aged 18 to 34 years (30-31%).

Earlier, a survey on the attitude of Russians to mandatory vaccination was conducted by the HeadHunter portal. According to him, more than half of respondents in Moscow and throughout Russia reacted negatively to the introduced measure, and about 35% supported it. Also, more than half of the respondents said that they refused to get vaccinated if the employer forced them to do so. About 40% of the survey participants said that they agreed to be vaccinated. About a third of the respondents reported that they have already been vaccinated, 11% -12% – that they plan to get vaccinated. About 40% said they did not want to be vaccinated.

On June 16, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the mandatory vaccination of 60% of the working population of Moscow. Following the capital, similar measures were introduced in the Moscow region. In Moscow, first of all, employees of the service sector should be involved in vaccination. In total, it is expected to vaccinate about 2 million people, the authorities said, in the Moscow region this figure will be about 1 million.
