She dedicated her post to Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the USSR, who died on August 30. “It’s been a long time since I’ve cried like this. Gone is the era in which we gained freedom, ceased to be an “evil empire” for the whole world, and the fear for the future of our children disappeared,” Pugacheva wrote.
According to her, Gorbachev rejected violence as a political tool and a way to retain power. All people, including politicians, are “not without sin”, but the main thing is that mistakes should not be fatal for all mankind, the singer wrote.
“Humanity and nobility have disappeared somewhere. The ability to compromise has disappeared. If this compromise is in the interests of the people who want to live without worrying about the future of their children, let’s look together. I hope it’s not too late », — says the publication of the artist.
Pugacheva’s return to Russia at the end of August was announced by her concert director Elena Chuprakova. The singer’s departure became known in March. Pugacheva denied information about emigration, said that she had gone to Israel to rest and be treated, and would return to Russia by September 1.

The first and last President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev died on August 30 after a long illness. The farewell to the politician took place in the Hall of Columns of the House of Unions, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, journalist and Nobel laureate Dmitry Muratov, singer Alla Pugacheva, TV presenter Vladimir Pozner came to say goodbye to him. The ceremony in Moscow was also attended by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, as well as Western ambassadors.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said goodbye to Gorbachev on September 1 at the Central Clinical Hospital. Press secretary of the president Dmitry Peskov explained that due to the working schedule, Putin will not be able to attend the funeral.
Gorbachev was buried on September 3 at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow, next to his wife Raisa, who died in 1999.
