Ukraine may break up into several states following the policy of the West and the Kiev regime controlled by it, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev told the Russian newspaper.
“In an attempt to suppress Russia, the Americans, using their henchmen in Kiev, decided to create an antipode of our country, cynically choosing Ukraine for this, trying to divide essentially a single people,” Patrushev said.
According to him, the United States long before the events of 2014 inspired Ukrainians with hatred for everything Russian. “If anything unites the peoples living in Ukraine today, it is only fear of the atrocities of nationalist battalions,” the Secretary of the Security Council said.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly said that the Ukrainian authorities are following instructions “from across the ocean”. So, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova at the end of February said that the Ukrainian authorities are “puppets who have proclaimed themselves the rulers of this land.” In her opinion, they are deprived of any sovereignty.
Zakharova also noted that Kiev has lost the chance for the existence of “Ukraine within its own borders, sovereign Ukraine, independent Ukraine.”
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a military operation in Ukraine to protect the population of Donbass, demilitarization and denazification of the country. At the same time, Moscow noted that the overthrow of the Ukrainian government and the destruction of its statehood is not part of the task of the special operation.
