Such excesses are absolutely unacceptable. And I think they quite rightly cause a sharp reaction in society,” the speaker of the Federation Council stressed. She pointed out that currently the country has an incredibly high level of patriotism, solidarity and support for the goals of a special military operation, so there should be no such cases of incorrect conscription. “People should see the responsibility of the government and feel the openness and justice of all its actions,” concluded Matvienko.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in Russia on September 21. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that it will cover 300 thousand people, or 1% of the country’s mobilization reserve. Cases of mobilization of citizens by mistake have already been recognized by the authorities of some regions. In particular, the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, said that fathers with many children with four children under 16 were called up. He called the situation unacceptable and promised that those called up by mistake would be returned.
