The price of the latest Russian light tactical fighter Checkmate will be in the range of $25 million to $30 million. This was announced by the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov at the International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-2021), RIA Novosti reports.
“And we [the price will be] $25 & ndash;30 million,” he said, comparing the price of the new Russian fighter with foreign analogues.

Chemezov said that we are talking about the French fighter Dassault Rafale and the Swedish Saab Gripen. According to him, they are in the range of $60 million to $90 million.
On the eve of the MAX, Rostec published photos of the entire aircraft and its nose section. The state corporation previously told about plans to create a light single-engine fighter of the fifth generation in manned and unmanned versions.
The presentation of the fighter was held at MAKS-2021. Chemezov and the head of the United Aircraft Corporation Yuri Slyusar showed it to Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the inspection of the aircraft, Putin was informed that the aircraft is equipped with an intelligent system that “unloads the pilot from performing routine operations”, and the aircraft itself can be in different modifications, for example, unmanned, single and double.
The fighter is equipped with an optical sighting system for firing at targets on the ground and in the air, which also allows for circular optical and radio reconnaissance. The mass of the combat load is 7400kg, and the flight altitude is up to 16.5 km.
