As a result of the shelling of the city of Shebekino, Belgorod region, two people were killed, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

According to “Izvestia” and the telegram channel “112”, the deceased were a man and a 16-year-old teenager. The UK later also reported that, according to preliminary data, one of the victims was a minor.
The governor wrote that almost 15 thousand people were left without electricity due to the shells, it will take up to six hours to eliminate the consequences.
Earlier, Gladkov spoke about 11 wounded and injured civilian objects.

Shebekino is the administrative center of the Shebekinsky district, which borders the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the Russian military operation, the city has been shelled more than once. In recent days, according to the authorities, such cases have become more frequent: on October 11, a substation was attacked, due to damage to the transformer, more than 2 thousand people were left without power supply. Two days later, Gladkov reported the shelling of the customs checkpoint, which is why it “practically ceased to exist”.
On October 19, three people were injured during the shelling of Shebekino, one of them was wounded in the chest and taken to the hospital in a serious condition. On the same day, the Belgorod Region and seven other regions introduced an “average level of response”, which involves a special mode of operation of communication facilities, transport and printing houses, restrictions on entry and exit of citizens, as well as vehicle inspections. According to Gladkov, some residents of the region have asked for temporary relocation, 500 people will live in one of the sanatoriums near Moscow.
