The day before, the head of the CEC, Ella Pamfilova, said that the election commission had sent materials to the IC and the Prosecutor General’s Office on a number of violations at the elections held in St. Petersburg. In addition, she criticized Belsky. “Here we observe an absolute conflict of interests: a person who was engaged in domestic politics, at the same time went to the deputies and was engaged in the electoral process,” Pamfilova said.according to the head of the CEC, most of the complaints about violations in the elections of State Duma deputies came from St. Petersburg, and the city election commission has a “fifth column” that is not interested in identifying them.
