The UK will develop recommendations for convincing young people to refuse rallies

The Investigative Committee plans to develop recommendations for the formation of a “conscious refusal of young people” from participating in unauthorized actions, deputy chairman of the department, Lieutenant General of Justice Alexander Klaus, told TASS.

According to him, in January, the Investigative Committee proposed that St. Petersburg State University (St. Petersburg State University) conduct a sociological study. With the help of it, the UK wants to find out why teenagers participate in illegal rallies, as well as find ways to counter such dangerous trends.

“According to the results of the study, we plan to receive an expert opinion with recommendations on the formation of a conscious refusal of young people to participate in uncoordinated actions,” Klaus said.

At the beginning of the year, uncoordinated protests were held in Moscow, St. Petersburg and a number of other Russian cities in support of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny. According to human rights activists, more than 10 thousand people were detained at the rallies on January 23 and 31, as well as on February 2. More than 90 criminal cases were opened against the participants and organizers of the actions, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. The rallies were attended by minors, among others.

After the protests, President Vladimir Putin declared the inadmissibility of involving children in protest actions. “In no case should minors be pushed forward. After all, this is what terrorists do when they drive women and children ahead of them. Here the focus shifts a little, but in fact it is the same, ” he said.

Next year, educational advisers will appear in schools. The project for their training will be supervised by the Russian Movement of Schoolchildren (RDS), Kommersant reported. As the executive director of the RDS Irina Pleshcheva said, special attention will be paid to young people who were detained at unauthorized rallies. “It is necessary that they do not feel anger or the feeling that they are abandoned. They should be integrated into the same RDS projects, ” she noted.

Commenting on this initiative, the rector of MIPT, former Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, in an interview with RBC, said that “he sees nothing wrong with talking about politics with schoolchildren”. I think that you need to talk about everything with children. There should be no forbidden topics. Since political activity is a part of the life of society, it is possible and necessary to talk about it. Where else can we talk about this, if not at school, where the child spends a significant, and sometimes most of his life?» & mdash; he said.
