The press secretary of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny, Kira Yarmysh, has left Russia, Interfax and TASS report, citing sources.
“She flew from Russia to one of the neighboring states,” the source told TASS in law enforcement agencies. According to Interfax, Yarmysh went to Helsinki.
RBC has asked Kira Yarmysh and lawyer Veronika Polyakova for comment.
“Her house arrest was canceled, so all the restrictions that were provided by the court for house arrest no longer apply. Accordingly, she could have left the Russian Federation, “the chairman of the bar association” Starinsky and partners ” Vladimir Starinsky told RBC.

On August 16, the Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow sentenced Yarmysh to one and a half years of restriction of freedom in the so-called sanitary case. She was forbidden to leave her place of residence from 22: 00 to 6: 00, to organize mass actions or participate in them and to travel outside the Moscow region without the permission of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN). The preventive measure in the form of house arrest was canceled on the day of the announcement of the verdict.
Yarmysh was found guilty of inciting violations of sanitary and epidemiological rules (Part 4 of Article 33 and Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code) at uncoordinated actions in support of Alexey Navalny, which took place in the winter. The Investigative Committee found that she, along with other colleagues of the oppositionist, contributed to the spread of the coronavirus by publishing information about the actions. The prosecutor asked to appoint Yarmysh two years of restriction of freedom.
The case of violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules was opened after an uncoordinated protest action on January 23. This month, Navalny returned to Russia after the treatment in Germany. At the airport, he was detained as part of the case of Yves Rocher, according to which the oppositionist received a suspended sentence back in 2014. In February, the suspended sentence was replaced with a real one, after which Navalny was transferred to a colony in the Vladimir region.
Navalny’s brother Oleg, Pussy Riot member Maria Alyokhina, head of the Alliance of Doctors (recognized as a foreign agent) Anastasia Vasilyeva, lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK, recognized as a foreign agent and an extremist organization, banned in Russia)also took part in the “sanitary case”. Lyubov Sobol, former FBK employee Nikolay Lyaskin, municipal deputyBasmanny district Lyusya Stein, the head of the Moscow headquarters of Navalny (recognized as an extremist organization, activity is prohibited) Oleg Stepanov and the municipal deputy of the Severnoye Izmailovo district Dmitry Baranovsky. Most of them have already been sentenced-for example, Oleg Navalny and Nikolai Lyaskin received a year of suspended imprisonment.
On August 3, as part of the “sanitary case”, Lyubov Sobol received a year and a half of restriction of freedom. Five days later, Interfax, REN TV and RT reported that she had left Moscow for Istanbul, where she was supposed to change to another flight.
