Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a decree in order to implement the recommendation of the chief state sanitary doctor of the city on mandatory vaccination of workers in the service sector.

According to the document, an information system will be created in Moscow until July 1, which will allow monitoring how the sanitary doctor’s decision is being implemented. The Department of Health will determine the need for vaccines, refrigeration equipment and vaccination teams, and organizations and individual entrepreneurs will have to provide information on the city hall’s website about employees who need to be vaccinated.

The decree of the head of the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in Moscow obliges to vaccinate 60% of workers in the service sector, trade, catering, transport, healthcare, housing and communal services, MFC, education and culture from coronavirus. Such a measure, Sobyanin said, was taken because “the situation with the coronavirus continues to develop dramatically”. According to him, now Moscow has reached the peak values of last year in terms of morbidity.

Sobyanin called the decision on mandatory vaccinations “extremely difficult and difficult”. Mass vaccination in the shortest possible time will help “stop the terrible disease and stop the death of thousands of people,” he said. Now, according to the mayor,the city vaccinated 1, 8 million people.

According to the operational headquarters, 1.253 million cases of COVID-19 infection were detected in Moscow over the entire period, and this number increased by 5.7 thousand per day. For the entire period, 21.1 thousand people died from infection in the city.

On the eve of Sobyanin said that in recent days, the number of detected cases of infection has increased by 80%, the number of hospitalizations of severe patients with COVID-19 has increased by 70%. Against this background, new restrictions were introduced in the capital: from 13 to 20 June, citizens will not be able to visit zoos, food courts and children’s playrooms, restaurants and cafes in the period from 23: 00they will not accept visitors until 6: 00, and will only be able to work for takeaway and delivery. Employers were advised to transfer at least 30% of unvaccinated employees to remote care, as well as motivate everyone to get vaccinated.

Following Moscow, new restrictions and mandatory vaccination in the service sector were introduced in the Moscow region.
