The commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy, Admiral Igor Osipov, was not present at the celebrations in honor of the 239th anniversary of the fleet, which took place in Sevastopol the day before, as he is “at a combat post”, the governor of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said in his Telegram channel.
On May 13, a concert was held in Sevastopol on Nakhimov Square in support of the Navy and a special military operation, but the admiral was not present there, the head of the city said. “Our commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Igor Vladimirovich Osipov, is now at a combat post, and, of course, he is not up to social networks and congratulations right now, but I am sure he and our Black Sea residents feel our support,” he wrote.
On May 9, the parade in honor of the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was hosted not by Osipov, but by his first deputy, Chief of Staff of the Black Sea Fleet, Vice Admiral Sergei Pinchuk.
A day earlier, the publication “Sevastopol Deanery” reported that Osipov participated in the ceremony of taking out banners on Sapun Mountain as part of the action “Banners of Glory”.
