According to Bogsnes, Ellingsen applied for dismissal in April, that is, the scandal at the hotel occurred after she decided to leave the position. Since September 1, she has not been an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On July 30, the Telegram channel Mash published a video in which a woman quarrels with hotel staff. The authors of the channel clarified that the hotel is located in Murmansk, and the guest is a diplomat Elisabeth Ellingsen. The conflict, according to Mash, occurred due to the managers’ request to wait until the maids finish cleaning. The Russian Foreign Ministry has banned the entry into the country of “the highest military leadership of the European Union”, the ministry said in a statement.
The measure was taken in response to sanctions against Russians and Russian companies. The list of those who are prohibited from entering Russia also includes high-ranking officials of the law enforcement agencies of the EU member states, representatives of European companies from the field of arms production involved in the supply of military products to Ukraine. But the Foreign Ministry did not name specific people.
“The corresponding note verbale of the Russian Foreign Ministry has been transmitted to the EU delegation in Russia,” the ministry said.
The European Union is an economic and political union, there are no military bodies among its institutions. The community has a body of diplomacy – the European External Relations Service, which is headed by the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The agreement on the grain deal was signed by Russia and Ukraine separately from each other with Turkey and the UN on July 22. The parties pledged to create a safe corridor for the passage of grain ships through the Black Sea, representatives of the UN, Turkey and Ukraine agreed to monitor the loading in order to exclude the passage of military cargo. The high yellow level of terrorist danger in the Belgorod region was extended until September 22, the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov said in his Telegram channel.

Brussels is developing radical measures to reduce energy prices, which will be discussed by representatives of EU countries on Wednesday before an emergency meeting of energy ministers on Friday.
According to the EC documents, the proposals include limiting prices for Russian gas at the EU-wide level and distributing gas to countries in need in emergency situations. If a price ceiling is imposed, France will support it, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday after a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Spanish Energy Minister Teresa Ribera was more careful in her words. “I think this is something that we definitely need to take into account. The question is to what extent we can afford it,” she told Politico.
Germany has also taken a more cautious stance, publicly agreeing to a tax on excess income only for producers of nuclear energy, renewable energy and coal. According to a representative of the German Ministry of Economy, Berlin wants to create an expert commission to study the most reasonable approach to limiting gas prices, which, in fact, will slow down any measures at the EU level.
