The Election Commission of the Pskov Region has amended the resolution on the registration of the Yabloko party list and reinstated Lev Shlosberg and Nikolai Kuzmin in the elections to the Pskov Regional Assembly of Deputies, it follows from the message of the election commission.

The reason for the review was that the decision of the Moscow City Court to recognize the FBK (included in the list of foreign agents, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia) as an extremist organization did not enter into legal force, the commission noted.

“Taking into account that the decision of the Moscow City Court on the liquidation of the non-profit organization “Anti-Corruption Fund”, a non-profit organization “Foundation for the Protection of Citizens ‘Rights” (FZPG; legal entity FBK, recognized as a foreign agent, is prohibited in Russia. & mdash; RBC), on the prohibition of the activities of the public movement “Navalny’s Headquarters” (recognized as an extremist organization, banned in Russia. & mdash; RBC), which is referred to in its letter of 29.07.2021 by the Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for the Pskov region, has not entered into legal force, the election commission of the Pskov region decided to amend the resolution of the regional election Commission of August 3, 2021 No. 179/983-6, ” the message says.

According to the changes, the registered list of candidates for deputies of the regional parliament from the Yabloko party now includes 42 people.

RBC has asked Lev Shlosberg for a comment.

On August 3, the election commission of the Pskov Region refused to register members of the Yabloko party Lev Shlosberg and Nikolai Kuzmin as candidates for the regional Duma. The election commission motivated the withdrawal from the elections by the fact that it established the involvement of candidates in the activities of a public association carrying out extremist activities, namely the FBK (recognized as an extremist organization).

On this day, Shlosberg was registered as a candidate for the 207th Khovrin single-mandate district and given a certificate. “As far as I understand, a certain legal provocation was committed in Pskov, which we will deal with,” Shlosberg told RBC and added that he was going to appeal the decision.

On June 9, the Moscow City Court recognized the Alexey Navalny Anti-Corruption Fund, as well as the Citizens ‘ Rights Protection Fund and the opposition leader’s headquarters as extremist organizations. The defense appealed the decision, it will come into force only after the appeal is considered by the court of appeal, it is scheduled for August 4.

Vladimir Putin signed the law on the prohibition of running for those involved in extremism on June 4. Referring to the law, the election commission removed Ilya Yashin from the elections to the Moscow City Duma, refused to open an election account to the ex-head of the Moscow headquarters of Navalny Oleg Stepanov. On the basis of information from the Ministry of Justice about involvement in extremism, the nomination of Irina Fatyanova, the ex-coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters in St. Petersburg, and Sergey Ukhov, the ex-coordinator of the Perm headquarters, who planned to run for the Duma, was also canceled.
