As a result of the exchange, 50 Russian servicemen were returned from Ukrainian captivity, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

“By planes of the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces, the released servicemen will be taken to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the message says.

The military is provided with medical and psychological assistance, the ministry added.

The next exchange of prisoners with Ukraine was announced earlier on December 1 by the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin. According to him, so many servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferred to Kiev by the Russian side. Among the Russians who were returned from captivity, there are 12 fighters from the DPR and eight from the Luhansk People’s Republic.

The Ukrainian authorities have not yet reported on the exchange.
