The EU and the United States are preparing to conduct military operations against Russia in the eastern direction, on the territory of Poland and the Baltic states, said Ruslan Kosygin, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU), Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
“The whole complex of military preparations of the West, including on the territory of Poland, testifies to the systematic development by Washington and Brussels, under the pretext of containing the threat from the east, of mechanisms for creating groups of troops (forces) in the shortest possible time for their possible application in the relevant operational areas, as well as comprehensive support for their actions. In fact, this is a preparation for conducting military operations in the eastern direction,” he said (quoted by BelTA).
According to Kosygin, Poland and the Baltic states are turning into a testing ground, where Washington intends to unleash a bloody conflict against the Russian Federation and its allies. Confirmation of this, according to the head of the GRU, is the training conducted in the east of Europe on the transfer of troops and their use, while”Russia and Belarus are considered as the enemy,” in addition, the United States is deploying a missile defense system in Europe. Kosygin also pointed to the statements of Polish politicians about the “return of the so-called native Polish lands, which means the western regions of Ukraine and Belarus.”
At the end of June, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarusian head of state Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk is very concerned about the training flights of US and NATO aircraft, which are preparing to carry nuclear warheads and nuclear charges. In this regard, he pointed out the need for a “mirror response to these things”, pointing out that since Western countries conduct such training, “they probably think something”.
At the summit of the participating countries held at the end of June, the North Atlantic Alliance adopted a new strategic concept in which it called Russia a threat to the security of NATO members and peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic region. The countries of the bloc have agreed that they will continue to counteract “Russian threats”, its “irresponsible rhetoric” and respond to “its hostile actions”.
