Russian President Vladimir Putin receives reports on the situation in the Bryansk region in the Kremlin, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters, RBC correspondent reports.
“He receives constant reports from law enforcement agencies. In particular, the head of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and the head of the Rosgvardiya Viktor Zolotov report to him. We are talking about the events unfolding in the Bryansk region in connection with the attack of Ukrainian militants,” Peskov said, specifying that the president is informed about the measures taken by the named law enforcement agencies.
Putin also receives reports from Alexander Bogomaz, the governor of the Bryansk region, “on the situation on the ground and the measures taken,”primarily in order to ensure the safety of our citizens,” Peskov added.
On March 2, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that the village of Lyubechane in the Klimovsky district of the region, which is located near the border with Ukraine, was penetrated by a sabotage and reconnaissance group from the Ukrainian side, which fired at a car. As a result, one person was killed, a ten-year-old child was injured. In the village of Sushany,according to Bogomaz, a UAV strike was carried out, which caused a residential building to catch fire in the settlement. Law enforcement agencies are also working throughout the village of Sushany in the Bryansk region, Bogomaz’s spokeswoman Yulia Starovoitova later told the Star. She confirmed that a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) is operating in the village.
The FSB reported that the special services and the forces of the Ministry of Defense are working on the “destruction of Ukrainian nationalists” in the Klimovsky district of the region.
