The military prosecutor’s office asked the Reutovsky garrison Military Court to sentence the former deputy director of the Rosgvardiya, Lieutenant General Sergei Mileyko, who is accused of fraud, to eight years in a penal colony. This is reported by TASS with reference to his lawyer Elena Kapchinskaya.
“During the debate of the parties, the military Prosecutor’s Office asked & lt;…”to find our client Sergei Mileyko guilty and appoint him eight years of imprisonment in a general regime colony,” she said.
According to the lawyer, the verdict will be announced on July 30. The court session will begin at 11: 00 Moscow time.

The fact that Mileyko, who was in charge of logistical issues, was dismissed by the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, became known in July 2019. In October 2020, the general was detained in Moscow. As Kommersant wrote, the reason for the investigation against Mileyko was the results of an inspection of the military prosecutor’s office, which was initiated by the leadership of the Rosgvardiya. The attention of the department was attracted by non-residential premises in the house inBalashikha near Moscow, which has been owned by Mileyko’s wife since 2012. The house was built for the families of servicemen of a separate operational division named after him. Dzerzhinsk, but later a barber shop opened in it “For you”. According to investigators, with the help of forged documents, the premises were issued to an elderly relative of the officer, Galina Piskunova, and then they were resold to his wife at a reduced cost of 908 thousand rubles.
The investigation believed that the property was illegally re-registered through the ex-head of the apartment and maintenance department of the division named after him. Dzerzhinsk Major Kirill Prokudin, who is also being held in this case. As the Kommersant wrote, he wrote a confession and concluded a pre-trial cooperation agreement, but later terminated it,since he agreed with the accusation of abuse of official authority (part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code), but not in a selfish serious crime. The defense of Prokudin insisted that there was no evidence in the case materials, since the premises of the future barber shop did not belong to the Rosgvardiya, as well as the house that became municipal property. Mileyko pleaded not guilty.
Also, “Kommersant” reported that Mileyko was suspected of involvement in embezzlement of budget funds and abuse in the procurement of uniforms for the needs of the Rosgvardiya from a single supplier, the company “Spetsshweysnab”. Later, Mileyko was charged with organizing fraud on a particularly large scale (part 3 of Article 33, part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). He denied his involvement.
According to Kapchinskaya, for Prokudin, who is under house arrest, the supervisory authority asked for four years in a penal colony.
