The website “Stopcoronavirus. rf” has stopped displaying statistics of active cases of COVID-19 in the regions: as of July 12, there is no column “Active cases” in the section dedicated to the situation with coronavirus infection in the regions.
According to the cached copies of the site, which are stored in the web archive, data on active cases is available only until July 8, in the following days (July 9, 10 and 11) they are no longer there. As of July 8, according to the headquarters, there were 423422 active cases in Russia.
The operational headquarters of RBC said that in their daily reports they provide information about new cases of the disease, including without clinical manifestations, deaths and discharged citizens. They advised to clarify the information about the disappearance of the column with active cases from the site. It is written on “Stopcoronavirus.rf” that the site is developed and maintained by the ANO “National Priorities”.
The ANO & laquo;National Priorities & raquo; told RBC that the column & laquo;Active cases» is calculated and the graph of this indicator should be considered only in dynamics— as a characteristic of the development of the pandemic (wave process). “Despite the corresponding explanation to the column published on the website, some media outlets interpreted it incorrectly. The editors of the website “Stopcoronavirus.rf” analyzed the media reports and decided to remove the column “Active cases” as uninformative, ” the ANO reported.
As the Telegram channel Baza drew attention, the graph with active cases disappeared after the data of the operational headquarters on active cases in St. Petersburg diverged from the information of the city authorities.
On July 9, the headquarters reported that there were 711 active cases of coronavirus in St. Petersburg that day. At the same time, according to the headquarters, 1951 new cases of infection were detected in the city during the day. “Fontanka” in the city health committee said that at that time, 11.5 thousand coronavirus beds were deployed in the city, of which only 10% are free. Thus, the publication noted, there were more than 10 thousand patients with COVID-19 in hospitals alone.
The committee did not comment on the information about the number of active cases, noting that the data is formed by the operational headquarters.
According to the statistics of the headquarters, the number of people infected with COVID-19 has been growing daily in St. Petersburg since June. On July 12, he reported 2,029 new cases. In total, 491.9 thousand cases have been detected in the city since the beginning of the pandemic.
